SymplBrush

SymplBrush

A project at Tomorrow Lab for SymplBrush

Role: Interaction Design, PCB Design, Firmware Development

Sympl is a toothbrush system that cleans all the teeth at once. SymplBrush cleans faster (and safer) than any other brush through 20x the bristle coverage. With the press of a button, SymplBrush addresses a common problem - brushing too little and/or too much. The patented brush features a folding bristle tray that pops in and out of the device. Once in the device, the bristle tray moves back and forth about 10x per second to give the user an effective cleaning.

Electronic Strategy

The device has a rechargeable battery located in the handle, which uses a USB charging cable. It lasts for up to 1 month between charges with normal use (twice per day). The button with timer & Indicator lights tell users when to move and flip the device to clean lower teeth. The interface is simple and intuitive.

Electronics inserted into the housing.
